Cors Fochno

My 15W UV trap attracted a pleasing array of species at Cors Fochno last night. My species total of 28 was virtually the same as Tony's only a couple of miles away in Talybont but the species composition was very different reflecting the contrast in surrounding habitat. These included Fox moth, Grey Scalloped Bar, Light Knot Grass, Sallow Kitten, Poplar Grey and Ruddy Highflyer. Scalloped Hazel, Pale, Pebble and Lesser Swallow Prominents; Pebble and Scalloped Hook-tips; and, Poplar and Eyed Hawk-moths were also in the trap.
