Coast path

Yesterday we had an excellent walk with Pete and Myra, in warm sunshine on the coast path north of Cei Bach beach at New Quay. The views were spectacular but we were concentrating mostly on the moths! We didn't see that many species but there were lots of Cream Wave, Speckled Yellow, Cydia ulicetana, and Nettle-tap. Also a Common Carpet, Red Twin-spot Carpet and Eudonia angustea. At the end of our walk there was a mass of flowering Thrift with Common Blue and Small Copper butterflies, our first Cinnabar of the year and the first Thrift Clearwing of the year, which made a brief visit to the pheromone lure.
