I think this might be a Lesser as it was 13mm and the cross lines are wavy not sharply scalloped. The hindwing spots are well defined and the wing curved not pointed .
Help appreciated.
Hi Liz, I don't think that this is a Lesser cream wave, I think it might be Cream wave. Hopefully we will get some other opinions. We were on Ynyslas yesterday and caught a moth which we were sure was Lesser cream wave. I will put a photo in a new post to see what you think. Tony
I kept it in a pot and I now think the wing tip dips too dramatically as it has changed position. From what I have read the outer x-line is not as important as it appears in the book W&L.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like a Riband to me. I'm afraid I can't see a reason to call it Cream or Lesser Cream. Hard to be sure from that photo though.
