On the night of 29th May I joined Ian Tillotson, Any Polkey,Russel Hobson, Adrian Fowles and George Tordoff on the SE Bog to find Rosy Marsh Moth caterpillars as it has recently been suspected they might have a more varied diet.
The photo is courtesy of George showing a caterpillar enjoying probably its last feed of bog rosemary, Andromeda polifolia , before pupating.
In the moth trap George set on the edge of the bog was Neofaculta ericetella (a heather feeder) amongst a few macros.
So who do I have to pester for the micro records then? lol ;-)
ReplyDeleteGeorge Tordoff! He's a professional who has, with his father, previously supplied records from years of trapping in Cere so don't worry Ina!
