a late afternoon walk on cors caron yesterday brought these three moths. small purple-barred is a relative of the herald, though usually seen flying in sunshine. rhopobota myrtillana is a bilberry feeder; it's nationally scarce, though on one part of the bog was abundant; it's fairly similar to rhopobota stagnana, but the apical markings are distinctive. in the observation structure by the river, three small clouded brindles, a marshland species, were sheltering.
