Silver Hook

A warm midgy night produced 67 macro species from three traps, two of which were in our neighbour's woodland.  Our high spot was our very first Silver Hook from the woodland.  The Mottled Beauty was the first moth of this year to reach double figures.  Included below is a selection of some of the more attractive moths.

  1. Wow that's nearly as many species as we've had all year. Good to see the Silver Hook only 1 record in each of the last 2 years, both from the RIS at Tregaron. The aptly named Beautiful Carpet is one of the few species which is increasing nationally.
