Garden Carpets at Llawrcwrt

There were two Garden Carpets in the trap a week ago. One appears to be f. thules, the northern form. Is this widely found in Ceredigion or is it an indication that climate warming has gone into reverse?

  1. This darker form is the predominant form in the north but also occurs throughout the UK. Relative frequency of up to 40% in some London areas, according to the books. The fact that we do not have any records in Ceredigion for form thules, does not necessarily mean that it is not here. This is a distinctive moth and I think most of us simply record "Garden Carpet". Not enough evidence for climate cooling!
