A quick walk round Talybont this afternoon, mainly for the exercise after the gale had died down.
Two Scarlet Tigers, a Silver Y and Nettle-tap.
Apologies for the quality of the photos as they were taken on my phone while hanging over someone's garden wall!

Map-winged Swifts
We set two traps in a nearby mixed woodland on a rather wet night and caught 31 macro species. Notable among them were these two forms of the Map-winged Swift (including f. gallicus). We also had our first Mottled Beauty, Clouded-bordered Brindle and Small Angle Shades for this year and found another location for the Welsh Wave.

Large Heath etc.
Large Heath butterflies have been on the wing at Cors Fochno since at least last Thursday (28th May), and can be seen around the visitor boardwalk. Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries are also out. This one was in my small field at Bontgoch today. Also, pleased to report a new location for Small Yellow Underwing, seen yesterday (3rd) in one of John Williams' lovely meadows at Werndeg, between Talybont and Bontgoch.
Pen-Rhiw-Newydd
I took my net for a short walk above Penryhncoch early last Thursday evening, around the edges of the conifer plantations (as instructed by the county micro recorder!). We found two Small Argent & Sable plus several micros: Crambus lathoniellus, Syndemis musculana, Micropterix aureatella, Nematapogon swammerdamella, Incurvaria oehlmanniella, Rhopobota myrtillana, and possibly Lampronia luzella and Epinotia fraternana (sorry about the photo).
Silver Hook
On a short walk at Ynyslas this afternoon we found a few day-flying moths. As well as the ones shown below we also saw Silver Y, Cinnabar, Green Carpet, Crambus lathoniellus, Chrysoteuchia culmella, Timothy Tortrix, Celypha lacunana, Nettle-tap, Crambus pascuella, and Glyphipterix thrasonella.

Humming-bird Hawk-moth
Not sure how unusual this is but yesterday I had a Humming-bird Hawk-moth
in my Bont garden. Definitely the first one that I have seen in the UK
