Late Single-dotted Wave

Single-dotted Wave attracted to the lighted window of our garden room last night, despite the constant drizzle: would this be a second brood?

On another subject, does anyone have any tips of discouraging hornets from creating havoc in the trap? On two recent trappings, at sites about 60m apart, I had eight and twelve hornets respectively. Curiously, three of the latter trapping were dead.
