Boxing Day Woodland
In no particular order, sorry, watched too much Strictly!
Winter Moth, Mottled Umber (including black form),Pale Brindled Beauty, Grey Shoulder-knot, Chestnut, Dotted Border, Scarce Umber (just one), N. Winter Moth, Mottled Grey, Dark Arches, Tortricodes Alternella and last - and also least - 1 Plutella xylostella! 10 Macro and 2 Micro species.

Winter Moth - female
This female Winter Moth emerged today from a larva collected at Ynyslas in May.
At the time it was a little 'green' thing hanging from a thread which I stuck in a pot with some leaves, Sallow I think. Winter Moth was my guess but it is very nice to prove it!
Now I had better get her outside somewhere... but she hasn't picked the best of the winter weather!

First Trapping since our move to Ceredigion.
Put the moth trap out for the first time since our move to Sarnau (SA44), and caught 4 December Moths, Poecilocampa populi, in our back garden. 10th December 2018

Woodland in December
Just one trap in the woodland at Ynys-hir last night (the other one failed to come on!) but we recorded 68 moths of 5 species. Most numerous were Winter Moth (33), with Scarce Umber (19), Mottled Umber (13), December Moth (2), and Feathered Thorn (1).
