Winter Moth - female

This female Winter Moth emerged today from a larva collected at Ynyslas in May.
At the time it was a little 'green' thing hanging from a thread which I stuck in a pot with some leaves, Sallow I think. Winter Moth was my guess but it is very nice to prove it!
Now I had better get her outside somewhere... but she hasn't picked the best of the winter weather!

First Trapping since our move to Ceredigion.

Put the moth trap out for the first time since our move to Sarnau (SA44), and caught 4 December Moths, Poecilocampa populi, in our back garden.  10th December 2018

Looking forward to many more moth trapping evenings.
