hawkmoth night

I thought I was fortunate to have this Small elephant in the garden trap on the 8th June but Red tells me he had 35 in his at Cwmystwyth!
Is that a record of some kind?

I did have a special night on the 9th catching 61 species in the 18w greenlight actinic placed near oak,guelder rose, and a large area of rough grassland not cut for 16 years..  I couldn't count the total number and I obviously haven't included any fly aways!

    It is a record by a long way. The previous highest recorded one night catch of Small elephant hawkmoths was 9.
