Mothy Mutterings

The latest from BC's Moths Count Newsletter is out.
Some interesting notes on the progress of a national recording scheme for micro moths, still a long way to go though.
Also the effects of the wet winter on lepidoptera.

  1. Ina, do you know if the 'new' numbers referred to in the recently published Checklist are Europe wide or something entomologists in Britain have devised?

  2. Good question Liz. I have the new checklist and looking at the new numbering system I think it is just British numbers. They have though aligned this British list with the new European list which has appeared as Fauna Europaea
If anyone can explain this better, please do.
