Last night was quite productive, with 20 species in the trap, in an open, grassy area. New to me was a Small Mottled Willow - which I see that Adam Dare in Carmarthenshire also had, the same night.

Others good to see again included a Treble-bar, Clay Triple-lines, a Little Emerald and twenty-two Treble-lines.

A bonus this morning was a Hummingbird Hawkmoth feeding on white-flowered Red Valerian.

Also Small Mottled Willow (3) in Aberystwyth yesterday morning, so a good night for migrants (Dark Sword Grass and Diamondback too, and FFY Small Clouded Brindle and Angle Shades). Agonopterix ocellana was new for the garden on Friday.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed to have 11 Small Mottled Willows on Friday night. Never even had one before then I had a whole football team!
