We ran two 6W Heath traps on Cors Fochno last night, one in the willow carr and the other on the open bog. As expected the willow carr produced most moths with 14 species of macro moths which included 25 Ruddy highflyer, 3 Grey birch, a Chinese character, Brindled beauty, and 2 Common wave. The open bog produced many fewer moths and fewer species but in the surrounding vegetation were a Puss moth and a male Emperor, which is unusual as males are not normally attracted to light.
