Silver Y and Dark Sword-grass

Just 5 moths here from last night's trap: Feathered Thorn; December Moth; Grey Shoulder-knot; Dark Sword-grass (my first of the year); and a Silver Y.

  1. Better late than never! Dark Sword-grass can appear at any time of the year. The book says that Winter records are infrequent and tend to coincide with mild weather and southerly winds, exactly what we have had. There are only 3 county records for December and 2 of them are yours, Sarah, in 2013 and 2015.
