Latticed Heaths

Yesterday there were quite a few Latticed Heaths along the coastal path from Mwnt.  They were very flighty but I did manage to photograph one or two of them.  We also found a Lobesia littoralis, some C. culmella, a 5/6-spot Burnet caterpillar and a 6-spot Burnet moth.

  1. Glad you found more littoralis Sarah. Shame about the weather today though.

  2. Pleased to hear that Latticed heath are doing ok in your area. According to BC they declined by 85% in the 40 years to 2007. In 1984 Adrian Fowles said it was "a common moth of open grassland". I will put the distribution map on a separate post (because I don't think you can add an image with a comment).
