Garden moth trap 8th May

A warm, still night - min. 16C all night - resulted in 79 moths of 24 species, which included 3 moths which were new to the garden (Grey Birch, depressaria radiella and elachista canapennella), plus an additional new micro moth which I spotted when putting out the trap (mompha divisella):

Mompha divisella
Grey Birch
Depressaria radiella
Elachista canapennella

  1. Not only a new record for your garden but the first record for your 10km square. The nearest record to you was at Llechryd. I think that we have commented before on the lack of records for Birch-feeders in the south of the county. I will put the distribution map on a separate post.
