Epermenia chaerophyllella?

A warm but breezy night resulted in 75 moths in/around my garden trap this morning.  New for me were a Pale Pinion, a Powdered Quaker and this micro moth which I've provisionally identified as an Epermenia chaerophyllella.  Would someone be able to check it for me please?

  1. Looks good to us, but would like another opinion just to be sure. It has the 4 tufts and what is left of a hook. Recorded at your end of the county before too Sarah.

  2. Thanks Ina. As usual, I have other photos including one from above and one showing the antennae length if they are of further help.

  3. Hi Sarah, yes that looks good for chaerophyllella. It's probably a bit overlooked as a species. Back in Bucks, the database holds 12 records only (I've just added one for 2013) and I suspect Ceredigion will be much the same.
